As a pre-teen, Tyler was known as the “baby whisperer.” From babysitting the neighborhood children to working as a day camp counselor, she has always been able to positively connect with children. Perhaps it is because of her short stature as she is the same height as most kids, or maybe the fact that she is a huge fan of Mickey Mouse – a room in our house is decorated with Mickey Mouse items. James naturally has lots of energy and kids are drawn to him at events with family and friends. In addition to skiing, playing golf, and learning how to become a pilot, James enjoys cooking, including putting his own spin on classic recipes and baking his own bread. He loves having children help him while making homemade pizza or decorating holiday cookies.

We live in a single-family home in the suburbs of major Midwestern city. Our backyard overlooks a golf course and a small lake, with our house located in the middle of a cul-de-sac with limited traffic. We both grew up spending time with our extended family. James went on camping and road trips with his brothers, and sometimes cousins, to many locations across the United States and Canada, including Mount Rushmore, while Tyler took road trips with her parents and siblings to visit family along the East Coast.

We visit family as often as our schedules allow, at least every season, and stay in touch with our respective families through telephone calls, text messages, family group chats, and Zoom meetings. Our adult...

While we have different hobbies, we also share common interests. We enjoy being outside in the sunshine taking walks with our dog, Rosco, or riding bikes on one of the many trails in our neighborhood. After a long work week, we enjoy spending the weekend watching movies that make us laugh or are packed with action, or getting out the microphones for a karaoke night of songs by the Fugees and New Edition.
