James and Tyler
We're looking to adopt a baby
Hello from Tyler and James! Thank you for taking the time to read our story and learn more about us as prospective parents.
We met online like many couples, which is interesting since Tyler does not use social media! Tyler thought that James was not interested during our first date since he kept looking off into the distance. He later shared that she had “pretty brown eyes,” and he was trying not to stare awkwardly or be too weird about it. That did not work! We began dating and spending time together at karaoke restaurants, watching movies, taking sunset sailing trips, and having weekly date nights. James proposed to Tyler at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. We married in 2016, during the Thanksgiving holiday, in our church, surrounded by family and friends, while eating delicious food and dancing the night away to a great band.
After two years of marriage, we tried to grow our family but were unable to have a biological child. While James has two adult children, we knew that we wanted to parent children together, and explored different options to expand our family. Through our powerful sense of faith, we felt called to adoption. Becoming a parent has been a lifelong dream of Tyler’s and together we look forward to fully embracing parenthood. We are so excited to welcome a child into our hearts and home through open adoption.
